1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Valor Investigations website (“Site”), its tools, services, and content, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

2. Not a Law Firm — No Legal Advice

This applies to all services including but not limited to:

• Advocate Toolkit: A document preparation and formatting tool. It generates court-formatted documents from your own words. It does not provide legal counsel, strategy, or representation.
• Legal Research Services: Factual research and compilation of case law, statutes, and regulations. Research findings are delivered as informational memos, not legal opinions or advice.
• Paralegal & Drafting Services: Document drafting performed to client specifications for review, approval, and filing by a licensed attorney. Work product is delivered as draft material requiring attorney supervision.
• Case Investigation Services: Investigative research, record analysis, and evidence organization. This is research and documentation work, not legal representation or advocacy in any legal proceeding.
• Investigation Articles: Journalism and investigative reporting. Published content represents journalistic findings and opinions, not legal conclusions.

3. Advocate Toolkit — Specific Terms

By using the Advocate Toolkit, you acknowledge and agree that:

• The tool provides document formatting assistance only. It takes your words and formats them into court-ready documents.
• You are solely responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy, and completeness of all facts and statements you provide. Valor does not verify your claims.
• The AI polishing feature restructures and improves grammar only. It does not add legal arguments, case citations, or facts you did not provide. However, AI output may contain errors and you must review all generated text before use.
• You are solely responsible for filing documents with the appropriate court, serving all required parties, meeting all deadlines, and appearing at all hearings.
• Valor Investigations makes no representation that any document generated will achieve any particular legal outcome.
• Your narrative is transmitted to xAI’s Grok API for processing when you use the polish feature. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. AI-Generated Content

Certain features of this Site use artificial intelligence (xAI Grok) to process text. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies
• You must review all AI-processed content before relying on it
• AI output does not constitute professional advice of any kind
• Valor Investigations is not liable for errors in AI-generated content
• The AI is instructed not to fabricate facts, but no AI system is infallible — verification is your responsibility

5. Professional Services

Professional services (document scanning, data analysis, audio enhancement, photo editing, transcription, legal research, paralegal drafting, case investigation work, and web development) are provided under separate engagement agreements between Valor Investigations and the client.

Service rates are provided by quote. Specific terms, scope, deliverables, and fees are defined in individual service agreements. These Terms of Service apply in addition to any specific engagement agreement.

6. Gallery Print Sales

• All photography displayed on this Site is copyrighted by Valor Investigations
• Prints are produced by WHCC (White House Custom Colour) and shipped within the United States only
• Payment is processed securely by Stripe, Inc.
• All sales are final unless the print arrives damaged or materially defective, in which case contact us within 14 days for a replacement
• Colors may vary slightly between screen display and printed output due to monitor calibration differences
• Purchasing a print grants you a personal, non-commercial license to display the print. It does not transfer copyright or grant reproduction rights

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including investigation articles, photographs, graphics, code, design, and text — is the property of Valor Investigations or its content creators and is protected by copyright law.

You may not:

• Reproduce, distribute, or republish Site content without written permission
• Use photographs for commercial purposes without a license
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download Site content
• Remove copyright notices or watermarks

Fair use for commentary, criticism, news reporting, and education is respected in accordance with applicable law.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Site or any tool for unlawful purposes
• Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information to any tool or form
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site
• Interfere with or disrupt Site operations
• Use the Advocate Toolkit to generate documents containing knowingly false statements
• Use any service or tool to harass, defame, or harm others

9. Limitation of Liability

This includes but is not limited to:

• Outcomes of court filings made using documents generated by the Advocate Toolkit
• Errors or omissions in AI-processed content
• Reliance on investigation articles or published findings
• Loss of data stored in browser localStorage
• Interruption or unavailability of the Site or any tool
• Actions of third-party services (Stripe, xAI, WHCC, Vercel)

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to Valor Investigations in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50), whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Valor Investigations, its owner, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Site, tools, or services
• Documents you generate, file, or distribute using the Advocate Toolkit
• False or misleading information you submit
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE, TOOLS, SERVICES, AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Valor Investigations does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, tool output, or service result.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Union County, Oregon.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
